Hook-up charges have been increased from $10 to $20. Fred Mellott explained why this was necessary. An increase has not been made since 2005. Increases could have been made in increments, but they were not.

Mellott explained that many prices have gone up. He said that it takes “a lot of money” to keep the sled in good working condition and keep all equipment needed for the pulls in working condition. This also takes a lot of money and time.

Many improvements have been made to the grounds such as cementing, roofing and lighting. The kitchen needed to be expanded and the equipment was outdated. New hoods, kitchen sinks, plumbing and more upgrades are being completed.

The board regretted having to raise prices, but it is necessary to keep things going, members said. Members noted that admission is free and they hope to keep it that way.

Businesses interested in placing a banner for advertisement at the track should contact the SCPR board.

The club banquet for members will be held on May 18 at noon. Letters will be going out to members soon.

Dennis Dibert and the Royal Rangers will make chicken barbecue, corn, cupcakes, ice cream and drinks will be provided. The cost is $15 a person.
