For Martinsburg Borough residents only, a cleanup day is set for Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The location is the Martinsburg Borough garage, 371 South Nicodemus Street.
This event provides an opportunity for borough residents to get rid of hard-to-dispose of items that trash haulers will not take during normal pickup.
The following types of items will be accepted free of charge:
Air conditioners, batteries (car, truck, motorcycle), BBQ grills, bicycles, computers, computer monitors, copiers, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, doors, DVD/CD players, dryers, fax machines, freezers, furniture, hot water tanks, keyboards, laptops, large bulky clean fill items, lawn furniture, lawn mowers, mattress/box springs, metal items, microwaves, printers, porcelain sinks and bathtubs, porcelain toilets, propane tanks (valve must be removed), refrigerators, remotes, speakers, spouting, stereos, stoves, tape players, telephones, televisions, tools, toys, typewriters, VCR tapes, washing machines and windows.
Tires will be accepted for the following fee: Car, light truck, motorcycle tires, $4 each.
No industrial/commercial tires will be accepted.
No hazardous materials will be accepted.
No business or commercial debris will be accepted.
No household trash.
No hazardous wastes (solvents, pesticides, gasoline, kerosene, motor oil, etc.) will be accepted.
No paint in liquid form will be accepted. Empty paint cans and cans with dried paint are acceptable.
No construction debris from large contracted jobs. Remodeling or construction business waste will not be accepted.
Cash only for payments. No checks will be accepted.
Participants must bring the flier mailed by Martinsburg Borough regarding Clean Up Day. Martinsburg borough residents only may participate.
