Borough employee Brandy Frank questioned the Williamsburg Borough’s FMLA/personnel policy during last Monday evening’s Borough Council meeting.
Frank is coming back from maternity leave and asked borough if, being a full-time employee, she could come back for a set number of days the next few weeks, before coming back into her full-time position as office personnel.
The borough council permitted the schedule coming back into maternity leave, but decided to work on adding FMLA and maternity leave to the borough’s personnel policy. Later in the meeting, borough council added updating the credit card policy of employees to the personnel policy updates.
Chief of Police Rowdy Kagarise announced the medication disposal bin at the borough had recently been emptied, and the bin had more than 17-1/2 pounds of old or unused medication in it. Chief Kagarise praised community members for properly disposing of unused medication.
Chairman Ed Patterson gave his assignments as to the new committees for the borough which included the following:
Personnel and Finance – Ed Patterson, Jim Foreso and Dakota Biddle
Property, Equipment and Streets – Paula Hamilton, Jim Foreso, and Bruce Hamilton
Fire and Police – Denny Hammel, Ed Patterson and Karyn Shaw
Recreation and Community Affairs – Jim Foreso, Dakota Biddle and Bruce Hamilton
Councilmember Paula Hamilton made a motion to accept the committee assignments. Council member Denny Hammel seconded and the motion passed.
Councilmember Dakota Biddle made a motion to continue to have the borough building as the Williamsburg Borough polling place. Councilmember Hamilton seconded and the motion passed.
There was a closed-door executive session held following the meeting.
