Herald Reporter Visits Phil

Herald reporter Carlos Lamborn made a visit to Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney to see Phil for the 128th anniversary of Ground Hog Day. Despite a rainy morning more than 25,000 people watched as Phil saw his shadow signifying six more weeks of winter which was met with “boos” from the crowd.
Monday, Feb 3, a snow day at the home of Shawn and Kendra Brubaker of Williamsburg meant building forts and sled riding. Area students not only enjoyed Monday off but Wednesday as well, as another storm passed through the area beginning late Tuesday night. While the Monday storm featured all snow, the most recent storm dumped all snow, sleet, and ice.
Taylor Township Supervisors reported during their Monday night meeting, Feb. 3, that the road crew was doing a great job keeping the roads open during the recent snows.
