Catharine Township officials agreed during their reorganizational meeting that meeting dates will now be the 2nd Thursday of the month, still at 7 p.m. Township office hours will continue to be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 4 p.m.
Heather Flaig was once again named chairman of the supervisors, with Ralph Rispoli as vice chairman and Ken Brenneman as supervisor. Flaig was reappointed as secretary with Brenneman as Treasurer. The following roadworkers were also reappointed: Paul Miller, Shawn Zimmerman and Elva Fay. Lisa Imler was reappointed as a laborer and Michael Fay was again reappointed as roadmaster.
Daryl Cole and Kent Wilson were appointed as auditors for a six- and a four-year term, respectively. There is an opening for another auditor for the township. Those interested should contact the Catharine Township office.
Ralph Rispoli made a motion to increase the wages for secretary/treasurer from $15/hour to $18 an hour. This motion passed.
Other reappointments included Solicitor Nathan Karn, Engineer Keller Engineers, Government Advisory Committee representative Ken Brenneman, Election Vacancy Board Chairman Pat Bottenfield and Williamsburg Municipal Authority representative Daryl Cole.
Heather Flaig made a motion to allow emergency work done by roadworkers or laborers on a holiday — Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day and July 4th — to be paid double time. The motion passed.
Supervisors asked to contact Blair County’s Sewage Enforcement Officer Luke Helsel for an update on initial assessments of sewer systems in the township. This way, the township can get started working on Act 537 plan.
There was an executive session following meeting discussing legal issues for the township.
