Local veterans were remembered for their sacrifices by becoming part of a national tradition.
Mount Pleasant Cemetery joined over 4,000 other cemeteries honoring veterans with a Wreaths Across America celebration Saturday, Dec. 16, at noon. This was the cemetery's first year holding an event.
Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization that honors active military and veterans by placing wreaths in cemeteries during the holidays. Since its inception in 2007, the group has now expanded to placing over 2 million wreaths..
