New Enterprise
Franklin King Dasher, 75, of New Enterprise, went to be with his Lord Nov. 24, 2023.
He was born Jan. 14, 1948, in Hopewell; son of the late Warren Theodore Sr. and Josephine Ada (King) Dasher. On Dec. 23, 1969, in Sherman Valley, he was united in marriage to Deborah Lee (Dodson) Dasher. He was a loving husband, and together, he and Deborah, celebrated 53 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; daughter, Kristen Bruening (Fred) of New Enterprise; daughter, Kimberly Walker (Dale) of Duncansville; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Ann Rosenberry (Edwin).
He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Dasher; daughter, Karla Smith; and brothers, Warren Theodore Jr. and Donald Dasher.
Franklin was a graduate of Northern Bedford County High School and received his Minister’s License from the Altoona Bible Institute. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran.
Through the years, Franklin worked as a cook at Howard Johnson’s and as a mechanic at the Letterkenny Army Depot. Franklin was a devout Christian and LOVED the Lord. He worshiped and fellowshipped at the Salemville Seventh Day Baptist Church, Faith Assembly of God, Woodbury Church of the Brethren, and Brethren in Christ Churches. Franklin enjoyed woodworking, especially Fretwork, camping, fishing, and walking.
A funeral was held Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. Pastors David Ulm and Todd Bowles officiated. Interment was in Salemville Cemetery.
