Man Dies from Diseases

Augustus Valentine Dively, a native of Greenfield Township near Sproul, died at his home in Altoona from a complication of diseases. He had been a member of the Blair county bar for 50 years, and was considered one of the county’s prominent attorneys. His grandfather, Jacob Dively, was a soldier in the Revolutionary War.

The pig roast at the M.C.Home on Thanksgiving Day was a decided success adding much to the pleasure of the guests at that institution. An elk that was illegally shot in Puzzletown was sent by the game warden to the home on Monday evening.The animal weighed 227 lbs., and the steward, matron and guests expressed their thanks.

Mrs. Mabel Sholley Kephart, 27, of Dry Gap, died at her home from pneumonia. She leaves behind her husband, James and children John 11; Helen 8, and Thelma, 16 months. She was a kind wife and mother who will be missed by all.
