Saxton
Kathryn “Kitty” R. Dasher-Wyles, 86, of Saxton, passed away Monday, Oct. 30, 2023.
She was born April 21, 1937, in Saxton, a daughter of the late Willard and LouElla (Houp) Himes. On June 2, 1956, in the First Church of God, Saxton she was united in marriage to Warren “Teddy” Dasher, Jr. He preceded her in death June 24, 2016.
Together they had the following family children Connie Hunt, Everett; Janet married to Ed Snyder, Everett; Beth married to Les Kennedy, Everett and Eric Dasher married to Laurie, Port Matilda; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; siblings: Joyce Helsel married to Robert, Imler, Ann married to Joe Crouse, Greencastle, and Norma Singer, Harrisburg.
On Nov. 6, 2019, she was united in marriage to Gary J. Wyles. He survives her along with his family, daughters Pam Weyant married to Chris and Kristy Roxby married to Mark; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Blair Himes, Kay Hockenberry, Nancy Henry, and Ed Himes.
Kathryn attended Saxton First Church of God and was a former member of Rebekah’s Lodge.
She worked at Nason Hospital for over twenty years in housekeeping, retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed camping, shopping, playing cards, going on trips to the shore, eating out and loved her jewelry. She will be greatly missed by her family.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, at the Saxton First Church of God. Pastor Kathy Speck and Pastor C.R. Martin officiated.
Burial was held privately at the Salemville Cemetery.
