The Morrison's Cove Rotary Club picks students for each month from each local school district. The two winners from Williamsburg for September and October were recently announced.
September – Kara Lansberry
Kara is the daughter of Joe and Beth Lansberry of Williamsburg. In school, Lansberry is a member of the National Honor Society, and has been on the High Honor Roll. Other school activities include Varsity cross-country, varsity softball, FFA, student council, yearbook, Careers in Health Club, Fellowship Club, Spanish Club, Aevidum and Quiz Bowl. Outside of school, Lansberry enjoys playing sports, working, and spending time with family and friends. Her plans after graduation include heading to college to become a Physician Assistant.
October – RJ Royer
Roger Royer III "RJ" is the son of Roger and Carrie Royer of Williamsburg. Royer is in the high school honors program, which includes classes in math, geometry, pre-calculus and college prep. Royer is also taking college classes where he has been on the Dean's List for spring and fall 2023 and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. In school, RJ is a member of the National Honor Society and is a four-year letterwinner in golf and a three-year letterwinner in basketball. Out of school, Royer is involved with community service projects, a member of Leadership Blair County Youth in 2022, and helps his grandfather take care of the Lutheran Cemetery in Williamsburg. He plans to attend college after graduation to study pre-med and play collegiate golf.
