School Hosted Drill

The Spring Cove School District used an in-service day to host a full-scale emergency drill to replicate a deadly shooter situation. The drill, put on by the Blair County Safe Schools Network, brought together 12 law enforcement agencies, seven school districts and numerous other agencies.
Pat Conrad of East Freedom was inducted into the Altoona USBC (United States Bowling Congress) Women’s Bowling Association’s Hall of Fame. She started bowling in 1969 with a few coworkers at the “old” Morrisons Cove Memorial Park.
Claysburg PAST (Preserving Artifacts, Stories and Traditions) was given the Excellence in Preservation of County History and Heritage award by the Blair County Historical Society The award is given to individuals or organizations who have excelled in keeping the heritage of Blair County viable.
