The Central Dragon Football team traveled to face the Bedford Bisons last week for their eighth week of the regular season. After a very slow first half, the Dragons took off on both offense and defense to end with a 42-7 victory.
After the Dragons kicked off to the Bisons to start the game, possession of the ball drifted between the two for a scoreless first quarter. The Dragons then scored early in the second quarter with a 30-yard touchdown reception by Jacob Benton to take a small lead. With a little more than a minute remaining in the half, the Bisons scored to tie the game. After that, the Dragons showed off their capabilities, finishing a scoring drive with a 35-yard touchdown reception by Jack Dunn with 31 seconds left before halftime.
In the third quarter, the Dragons took off on offense, plowing down the field to start with a two-yard touchdown run by Hunter Smith. Later, Baron Dionis had a 48-yard touchdown reception to close out the third quarter for the Dragons. In the fourth, Smith added another one-yard touchdown run before Thaide Mickel completed a 59-yard touchdown run to top off the Dragons’ score.
In the second half, the Dragons’ defense limited the Bisons to a mere 12 yards with zero first downs. Quarterback Eli Muthler completed 16 of 25 passes for 287 yards, while Central as a unit rushed for 177. With a record of 8-0, the Dragons will return home for their Homecoming game against the Clearfield Bison in the upcoming week.
