Bigelow Family Receives Award

The Randy and Twila Bigelow family of Catharine Township was awarded the Agricultural Community Excellence (ACE) Award. The award is given by the Farm-City Committee of the Blair County Chamber of Commerce. The Bigelow’s Point View Farm is a dairy operation with 60 mostly Holstein cows.

The North Woodbury township supervisors gave the Martinsburg Community Library $3,500 after Lisa King and Jackie Rhule appeared before the board asking for more financial support in light of cuts to library funding from other sources.

Central High School’s mock trial team participated in the Empire City Invitational in Brooklyn, N.Y., and received one win, one tie, and two losses

The Claysburg Area Community Theater was starting practice for a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”. The show was directed by Thomas Ringler with music under the direction of Terry Hershberger.
