Williamsburg Borough announced following its Oct. 2, meeting, that Trick or Treat will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m.
Mayor Ted Hyle informed the council that the school district had inquired about borough police being on hand at the school district because the district has been unable to find a school police officer.
“Nothing is written in stone,” Hyle said.
Borough Manager Joe Lansberry discussed the LSA (Local Shares) grant that is available, and said that the Borough could use a new leaf vacuum. Lansberry said that Stiffler McGraw would complete the grant for the borough at an estimated cost of $2,000-2,500. This is a 100 percent grant with no match needed from the borough. The leaf vacuum costs an estimated $67,000. Ed Patterson made the motion to allow Stiffler McGraw to prepare grant for the vacuum with Bruce Hamilton seconding. The motion passed.
Paula Hamilton made a motion to advertise the rental ordinance with the new inspection firm. The motion passed.
Bruce Hamilton made the motion to advertise the dangerous reptile ordinance, which has been in the discussion for the past several months. This motion also passed.
