The Lady Dragon Soccer team faced the Cambria Heights Lady Highlanders this past week for a 2-0 shutout victory. Lakkyn Dibert bagged a penalty kick for the Dragons in the first half for an early lead. The penalty kick resulted from a Central corner kick that was entering the goal but blocked by a Highlander field player’s handball infraction, leaving Cambria Heights down a player for the remainder of the game. The Dragons’ other goal came from freshman Julia Bowser with a 42-yard shot in the upper left corner of the goal. Senior Goalie Lacey Ripka earned a game MVP with five saves, 32 touches on the ball and 24 completed passes. This leaves the Dragons with a record of 7-4 heading into next week’s matches against the Philipsburg-Osceola Lady Mountaineers, the Bellefonte Lady Red Raiders and the Huntingdon Lady Bearcats.
