In a two-match week, the Lady Dragon Volleyball team faced both the Bishop Carroll Lady Huskies and the North Star Lady Cougars. Sadly, both hard-fought matches ended in 3-1 losses for the Dragons.
Against the Huskies, despite a 25-18 victory in the first set, the Dragons fell to the Huskies in the final three sets with scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-22. Kaitlyn Weitzel had 10 kills, nine assists, two aces and 16 good digs, meeting a career achievement of 1,000 assists. Makenna Kocsis had 10 good digs, and Dessa Boyles had three stuff blocks. Amber Shade had 15 assists, while Heather Brumbaugh had seven kills.
Against the Cougars, the Dragons lost in the first set with a score of 25-10. They were able to tie the match with a win in the second set with a score of 25-14. Sadly, the final two sets left the Dragons with losing scores of 25-10 and 25-19. Weitzel had six kills, 15 assists and two aces throughout the night. Madison Kennedy had eight kills, while Alayna Mingle and Kocsis each had nine good digs.
With a record of 3-9, the Dragons will prepare to face the Penns Valley Area Lady Rams, the Clearfield Lady Bison and the Westmont Hilltop Lady Hilltoppers in the upcoming week.
