Police Focus on ‘Bath Salts’

Fourteen-year-old figure skater Hunter Evans of Queen returned home from the State Games of America in Hershey with two gold medals. She competed against skaters from all across the country in the artistic and freestyle programs and won gold medals in both.

State Representative Jerry Stern and Freedom Police Chief Terry Dellinger were in Harrisburg for the signing of an amendment to the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act. The new legislation, authored by Stern, was aimed at manufacturers of “bath salts.”

The Martinsburg Municipal Authority was studying taking over the Curryville Water System. The Curryville Water Authority asked to meet with Martinsburg to discuss possible options to alleviate concerns about Curryville’s aging equipment and distribution system.

School board members at Northern Bedford met to discuss their “weariness” with the Plancon Project. Several members expressed frustration with the lack of forward movement and constant changes to the plan.
