Feed Mill Sold
Herald of Sept. 26, 2013
The Martinsburg feed mill was sold for the second time in a year and rebranded Keystate Ag Service. Cargill purchased the Martinsburg facility in January 2013 in a bankruptcy proceeding for Pennfield Corp. In late August Cargill sold the mill to Risser Grain of Lancaster County. Key State Ag Service LLC leased the property from Risser. Under the agreement Key State will manufacture feed products for Cargill.
Results of a feasibility study commissioned by the Spring Cove School District were presented to the board. The study found that Central High School was in “dire need” of repairs and should undergo total renovations. Other buildings in the district were also in need of repairs and renovations. The study was needed to meet the Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements for reimbursement of costs involved in repair or replacement of buildings.
Dr. Amanda Grannas, associate professor of chemistry at Villanova University, was named a 2013 Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar.
