Central Golf Finishes Season on a High Note

The Central Dragon golf team looked to continue their winning ways Tuesday, Aug. 29th, as they headed to Ebensburg Country Club for another Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference matchup. Griffin Snowberger shot a season best 3 under 68 to win medalist, and the Dragons came away with a victory over 6 other league foes. Nick Baum finished with an 80, while Zach Oakes shot 84. Cody Clapper rounded out the scoring with a 91. The Dragons team score of 323 was thirteen strokes better than second place Central Cambria.

Thursday, September 7th, the Dragons played host to the Altoona Mountain Lions at Iron Masters Country Club for a non league match on Senior night. And the seniors led the way, as Griffin Snowberger captured medalist with an even par 72. Nick Baum carded a 77, while fellow senior Zach Oakes finished with an 80. Cody Clapper posted an 89, and Bryton Barnes shot 93. The Dragons, however, fell to Altoona in a close match, losing 410-412. Kreighoff Cumming carded a team low 78 for the Mountain Lions.

Monday, the Dragons wrapped up the LHAC regular season with another sweep of their opponents at Sinking Valley County Club. Their team score of 333 was good for a 7 stroke victory over second place Central Cambria. Nick Baum's 76 was tops for Central, followed by Griffin Snowberger with a 77. Zach Oakes posted an 85, while Bryton Barnes finished with 95. The team finished the regular season with a record of 24-7-1.
