Woodbury Township Supervisors approved two ordinances, and advertised the hearing for another ordinance during last Thursday evening’s meeting, Sept. 7. For the last year, Solicitor Aimee Willett and township Engineer Jim Young have been working on streamlining the process for Subdivision and Land Development in the township. Their work produced three new ordinances — Erosion and Sediment Control, Stormwater Management and the new Subdivision and Land Development ordinance. Both erosion and sediment control and stormwater ordinances are standalone ordinances and do not have to be commented on by Blair County.
“There were not many changes,” Willett said of these two ordinances.
The Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management ordinances were passed.
Willett said that the proposed Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance is on the desk at the Blair County Planning Commission, and they have 30 days to comment. The next step would be the township holding a public hearing before the SALDO ordinance can be approved. Ed Clark made a motion to advertise for the public hearing, which will occur directly before the October meeting.
Clark made a motion to adopt the agreement with PennDOT in regard to plowing Clover Creek for winter maintenance with Hamilton seconding, motion passed. The pension plan for the township was reviewed before the new 2024 installation; upon that review, there was a discrepancy and the township still owed some for the 2023 plan. Clark made a motion to adopt the revised 2023 and the new 2024 MMO plan.
Engineer Jim Young had talked with township officials about applying for a local shares grant. Roadmaster Craig Hamilton discussed purchasing a new boom mower for their tractors, which has been giving him and other employees, “lots of issues.” Clark said, “this is a no-brainer to try for this grant,” before making a motion to allow Stiffler-McGraw to apply for local shares grant with Hamilton seconding, motion passed.
The township is currently looking for winter maintenance help. Those interested in a job can contact the township office.
