Rep. Hess Dies
Herald of Sept. 12, 2013
State Rep. Dick Hess of Bedford died unexpectedly at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh from complications related to a recent surgery. Hess served the 78th Legislative District. Gov. Tom Corbett ordered all Pennsylvania flags at Commonwealth facilities lowered to half-staff until sunset on the day of his burial.
Williamsburg residents who participated in the production were invited to the Williamsburg Community Elementary School for a sneak preview of the Williamsburg edition of “Our Town”. The show, produced by WPSU, was scheduled to be broadcast on television as part of a fundraising effort by WPSU for the public television station.
School officials reported mold had been eradicated from eight classrooms at Central High School. The issue was blamed on poor summer ventilation, overall dampness, and the building’s concrete foundation that released moisture into the rooms.
