NB Volleyball Working With 'High Expectations'

Freshmen- Grace Dainty, Amberly Detterline, Emma Detterline, Callie Miller, Ava Sipes

Head Coach: Shalonne Sipes, 4th season

Assistant Coach: Jenn Davis

League: Inter County Conference

Last year's record: 12-7

Returning starters/letter winners: Addison Arcq, Lindsey Bolinger, Dani Imler, Halle Lingenfelter, Lacy McIlnay, Lainie Sipes, and Madison Miller

Newcomers: Elisa Camenga, Grace Dainty, Amberly Detterline, Emma Detterline, Callie Miller, and Ava Sipes

Strengths: We have most of our starting lineup returning this season, many having started on the varsity team since their freshmen or sophomore years. We have an experienced team with great chemistry and they know what it takes to be successful and win games.

Concerns: Injuries and illnesses are always a concern, especially within a small high school team. Additionally, since the ICC has been realigned we are playing several teams that we have never played before; we will have to spend some time familiarizing ourselves with our opponents' strengths and weaknesses.

Overall outlook: We are looking to have a winning, successful season this year and I think we have what it takes to do just that.

Team Goals: We're setting the bar high this season because we feel that so much is within our reach if the girls stay focused, step up to challenges, and play as a team. A few things we've talked about include:

• Maintain high academic success as a team and be role models for young student-athletes

• Win more single-season games than any other team in NBC volleyball history

• Win our conference division

• Make playoffs and get a first-round win

I realize these goals reflect some high expectations, but Coach Jenn and I know the potential of this team and are challenging the girls to step up and rise to the occasion.
