Little Miss Claysburg Queen Announced

Little Miss Claysburg Queen was announced on Aug. 12, 2023, at the Claysburg Community Park. There were 22 contestants.

The day was hot but beautiful and the girls did a wonderful job of parading around the gazebo for the audience and keeping their composure.

There were beautiful dresses of all styles and colors, and all were equally beautiful.

Judges for the pageant were M. Kirsten Leslie-Thomas, Cameron (Perry) Musselman and Eric Delozier. Assisting the judges was Barbara E. Leslie.

Two special awards were given out and they were the Loretta "Ret" Walter Memoria "Spirit" Award given to Joy Claar, a committee member. Also, the Loretta "Ret" Walter Memoria "Spirit" Award went to a sponsor and this year's winner was Tame Your Mane.

Results were as follows:

• Eighth runner up – Miley Virginia Drobneck

• Seventh runner up – Scarlett Elizabeth McCreary

• Sixth runner up – Piper Mae Dodson

• Fifth runner up – Bailee Grace Claar

• Fourth runner up – Gabriella Rose Marie Weyandt

• Third runner up – Stella Renee Musselman

• Second runner up – Avery Mae Weyandt

• First runner up – Sadie Marie Musselman.

This year's 2023 Little Miss Claysburg Queen is Ava Jade Weyandt.

A beautiful farewell speech was given by 2022 Queen Trinity Grayce Weyandt.

In conjunction with the pageant and community days, there were many community organizations selling crafts and food.

Among those attending was Greenfield Church of Christ United, which consists of three churches that share one pastor: Mount Hope of Blue Knob, Greenfield of Imler, and Claysburg Grace. They sold raffle basket chances. This is their only fundraiser of the year and they help the community by giving back to such organizations as the Back Pack Program, Kris Kringle Project, Food Bank, and many more.
