School Holding a Baby Clinic

Herald of Aug. 24, 1923

The State Board of Health will hold a Baby Clinic in Woodbury schoolhouse at 1:30 Monday Aug. 27. All mothers and children under six are invited. Children will be weighed, measured and examined free of charge and if any need operations the State will arrange for them free at any hospital the parents select. Many children suffer from bad teeth, tonsils and adenoids that will eventually leave them deaf or with rheumatism or weak heart or other infirmaries.

Miss Mary Burget, 13, daughter of Adam K. and Anna Glass Burget, died at Nason hospital due to typhoid fever. Her father and mother and one brother are patients at the same hospital, with her father and brother in serious condition. The family resides on a farm at Millerstown near Henrietta and there is no other case near and health authorities cannot account for the outbreak.

The Morrisons Cove Holstein Breeders’ Association will hold its first annual field day at Snyder Memorial Park.
