Prayer Walk to be Held at Northern Bedford High School

A Prayer Walk is being held on Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. at Northern Bedford High School. Pastor Beth Pyle of Bedford Forge Church Hopewell provided information on this event. Pyle is a member of the Southern Cove and Yellow Creek Ministerium.

The Southern Cove and Yellow Creek Ministerium work hand in hand throughout the year on various projects in addition supporting the school district. They meet regularly with the school district and the community.

The prayer walk is important to the ministerium because it is the intersection of their belief in the power of God that is accessed through prayer, and the calling to be in the ministry to the entire community. The most recent changes have been to include prayer options for kids and families that are tactile and interactive. 2022 attendance was around 90 people, states Pyle.

Kendra A. Pritchett, middle school principal, said, “The annual prayer walk is an important action of support of our students, staff, and community. Knowing God is being asked to watch over our school and to lead everyone involved with our students throughout the school year brings a great sense of peace and comfort. We are extremely fortunate to have a community that wants to do all they can to protect and support our school and what better support can we get, than from God himself.

“We had a wonderful school year last year, and I attribute that to the many prayers that have been sent up on our behalf, both at the prayer walk and throughout the school year.”
