Rev. Bonebreak Recognized for Service

The Rev. John D. Bonebreak of Martinsburg was recognized for 50 years of ordination in a special service at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Martinsburg. Although retired from the ministry, he continued to serve as a supply minister at several local churches.He is the son of the late Dr. John Keim and Irma Bonebreak.
Roaring Spring borough advertised an ordinance that prevented residents from keeping farm animals, including chickens, in the borough. The ordinance also bans wild and exotic animals like snakes, racoons, alligators, crocodiles, and such. Advertising the ordinance was the first step toward enacting it, although the borough solicitor said changes could be made before it was approved.
Memorial Church of the Brethren was holding a service of blessing for anyone who was a part of the upcoming school year, including teachers, support personnel and students. Students were encouraged to bring backpacks to be blessed as well.
