Police Plan National Night Out in Bedford: Aug. 1

The Bedford County Chamber Foundation is pleased to support National Night Out, organized by the Bedford Borough Police Department in conjunction with local law enforcement and first responders, and supported by the Bedford County Chamber Foundation and Thomas Dealerships. This year's event is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 1, on Penn Street in Bedford between West and Juliana Streets in front of the Police and Fire Stations. Admission to this event and many of its related activities is free.

National Night Out is an opportunity for the community/county to come together to promote safe and caring neighborhoods. The event features many area police departments (and police cars) as well as first responders, county services, community organizations, churches, businesses and more. More than 38 million neighbors across more than 16,000 communities throughout the U.S. participate in the annual program that promotes police-community partnerships and community camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. 2023 marks the 40th year for the national program.

• Meet Local Law Enforcement Officers

• Tour Police, Fire Vehicles

• Safety Demonstrations

• PA Game Commission

• Children's Photo Ops

• Bedford County Wilderness Search Team (K-9 and Mounted)

• Displays, games, activities & giveaways by local agencies, organizations and businesses.

• Free admission
