Theft of Signs Investigated

The Martinsburg Police Department was investigating the theft of three street signs in Huston Township. The signs were stolen from Davis Road, Lock Mountain Road and Poverty Hollow Road. Police reported that this was an ongoing problem in Huston Township, creating hazardous situations, especially when emergency services need to locate an address.

Snider Homestead farms of New Enterprise was honored by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for its generations of distinction in the dairy community. Bernetta (Snider) Gable was set to receive the 2012 National Dairy Cattle Breeder award in Harrisburg because of the family’s worldwide renown in breeding quality and Guernsey genetics.

Lulu Roman of Mount Juliet, Tenn. was scheduled to take the stage for the 38th Pennsylvania Singing Convention at the Morrisons Cove Memorial Park. Roman was a performer on the television show “HeeHaw”. Other performers included the Vicksburg Quartet, the Kingsmen Quartet, and the Little Roy and Lizzie Show.
