Allegheny Pullers Garden Tractor Pull

On Thursday, July 13, Allegheny Pullers held a tractor pull with garden tractors at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park in Martinsburg during the Cove Carnival week.

Jerry Sickles is the president of the group and explained how he and his wife helped develop this group years ago. At present there are 36 members in this group. This group is found on Facebook under Allegheny Pullers, Garden Tractor Pulling, Motorsports.

Pulling classes included Off the Lawn/Clipper Class 1000, 12 HP Class 900 and 1000, 16 HP Class 1050 and 1100, Small Tire 4 Cylinder Modified 1150 and 1250, 20 HP Stock Twins Class 1150 and 1200, 45 Cubic Inch Altered Twin Class 1050 and 1100, Sport Stock or Stock Altered Class 1100, 1150, SA1150 and 1200-, and 4-Cylinder Class 1450 and 1550. All Diesels must be completed in 1450- & 4-Cylinder Class.

Sickles explained children can compete if a parent is present to assist them. The object is to see how far one can pull a weighted sled, up to 360 feet for a full pull.
