Linda L. Whitaker

Linda L. Whitaker, 75, of Williamsburg, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday evening, July 2, 2023, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born Aug. 28, 1947, in rural Williamsburg, daughter of the late, Jack N. and Gertrude L. (Gorsuch) Blough. On April 11, 1969, she married George E. “Ed” Whitaker in Williamsburg. He passed away March 10, 2014, following 44 years of marriage.

She is survived by two sons: Scott A. Whitaker (Malissa) of Williamsburg and Chad E. Whitaker (Heidi Trecoske) of Enola; two granddaughters: Madalyn and Lydia Whitaker; and two brothers: Larry L. Blough of Martinsburg and Timothy W. Blough of Clappertown.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Robin J. Irvin and a brother, Roger D. Blough.

Linda was a 1965 graduate of Williamsburg High School and a faithful member of Williamsburg Alliance Church.

She retired as a housekeeper from the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home and was previously employed at the Penn State University main campus in State College and at the Fonda Group Inc. in Williamsburg.

She loved spending time with family and friends and also enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and day trips to the casino.

A funeral was held Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Williamsburg Alliance Church. Pastor Paul R. Campbell officiated. Private interment was held at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg, (www.bolgerfuneralhome.com).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Linda may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or Williamsburg Alliance Church, 214 E. Third St., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
