Dwayne Zimmerman, of Crowsnest Broadband, attended Woodbury Township Supervisors’ meeting. Zimmerman said that after receiving a grant, Woodbury Township was one of the areas most “in need” of broadband services and that Crowsnest is looking into fiber optic services in the area. Zimmerman admitted they are in the planning stages but wanted to know the priority areas of the township and asked for a letter of support from the township for any work in the future and for more grant funding support.
“What I’ve heard – you all are great with customer service, and this would definitely be needed here,” Chairman Joe Lansberry said to Zimmerman.
Ed Clark made the motion to compose and send a letter of support to Crowsnest with Craig Hamilton seconding. The motion passed.
Rails to Trails of Central PA contacted the Township with regarding a letter of support for updates to the Trail and aligning it with the 9/11 Trail.
“It brings a lot to our community,” Clark said.
Three places submitted stone and asphalt bids — Grannas Bros, New Enterprise and Ligonier Stone. Ed Clark made a motion to award the bids for stone and asphalt to Grannas due to “convenience of hauling.” Craig Hamilton seconded motion and the motion passed. For the unique cool patch, the bid was awarded to New Enterprise. This motion also passed.
The financial security for Cove Forge is set to expire in September. Solicitor Aimee Willett said she would compose a letter to Cove Forge questioning intentions before expiration. Willett also gave an update on the SALDO (Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance), which will be ready soon for the township and the county to review. The stormwater portion along with the erosion and sediment control, she said will be ready for approval at next month’s meeting.
