Man Fainted From Heat and Fell

Jack Barteges of Martinsburg, who is employed with the H. D. Blattenberger Construction gang in Parksley, Md. was seriously injured when he fainted in the intense heat of 115 degrees and fell from the top of a utility pole, suffering a crushed vertebrae in his back.
David Jack, 12-year-old son of John D. and Kathryn (Wagner) Jack of Williamsburg, died July 9 at Allegheny General hospital, where he had been admitted four days previous. He had been under treatment for the past 16 months. John D. Jack was supervising principal of the Williamsburg schools.
Chief of Police Raymond Perkins of Williamsburg and Officer Blair Helsel of the Hollidaysburg police arrested Williamsburg Tax Collector Robert L. Spencer at his home in Williamsburg. He was charged with embezzlement and refusal to make restitution of $6,779.57 on the tax duplicate of 1945-46-47.
Twenty-four fresh air children came to the Cove for a two week vacation.
