Roaring Spring
Russell A. Wyles, 80, of Woodbury Pike, Roaring Spring, passed away June 24, 2023, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1942, in Bakers Summit; son of the late James P. and Ida M. (Settlemeyer) Wyles. On Nov. 23, 1963, in New Enterprise, he was united in marriage to Janet Louise (Baker) Wyles; she preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2019.
Russell was a Class of 1961 graduate of R.P. Smith School and owner of the Russell A. Wyles Dairy Farm. He enjoyed hunting, going to the races at Bedford and Eldora Speedways, watching sporting events, and showing dairy cows with whom he won many awards. Russell was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren and the PA Holstein Association, officer of the Bedford County Holstein Club, and was a local representative for the Land O’ Lakes Dairy Co-Op.
He is survived by a son, Shawn Wyles (Nicole) of New Enterprise; daughter, Dawn Love (Jesse) of New Enterprise; son, Ron Wyles of Roaring Spring; grandchildren, Kelli Wyles and Addison, Carter, and Avery Love; and brother, Jay R. Wyles (Joyce) of Martinsburg.
Friends will be received on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, June 30, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service. Pastor David Ulm will be officiating. All of the above will be held at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
