Richard Blaine Pollard (Rich), 60, of Danville, died suddenly on Friday, May 19, 2023. He was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched.
He was born Aug. 27, 1962, in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Clyde F. Pollard Sr. and the late Judith A. Pollard. After Blaine graduated from Central High School in 1980, he went on to study at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating with a degree in architecture, he enlisted in the United States Navy. His first job was at Lockhead Support Systems as a aircraft mechanic. He formed his own company, Yes We Can Construction.
In 2001, Blaine met Jennifer and Jennifer went on to have one child, Thea Blayne Pollard. They were the loves of his life.
Blaine enjoyed being a boy scout leader. He loved boating, fishing, and designing and constructing homes and cars.
He is survived by his spouse, Jennifer, daughter Thea, of the home; two sisters: Tina Pollard of Martinsburg, and Sharby Shriver and husband Joe of Hopewell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Blaine was predeceased by his parents; brothers Clyde F. Pollard Jr. and Timothy Pollard; and step-son, Hunter Harrison.
A funeral was held Friday, May 26, at Swicegood Funeral Home. Pastor Ryan Ware officiated.
A special thank you to friends and family who have helped and supported Jennifer and Thea during this difficult time.
Blaine, we will always love and miss you until we can meet again.
