The Claysburg Area Public Library received a moon globe to display in the library. The moon globe was donated by Mr. and Mrs. F. Don Freeburn. Mr. Freeburn is a retired Engineer/Aerospace Technologist who worked at NASA during the Apollo missions. Mr. Freeburn attended the Earth to Moon exhibit while it was in Claysburg and spoke of his experiences while working on the Apollo missions.
Blair County Conservation Department will hold its Turtle Talk on June 8 at the library. The program will be held at 11 a.m. All are invited to meet the turtles and learn about different types of turtles.
Summer will soon be here and the library is gearing up for its Summer Quest Program. There will be six programs beginning June 15 and run through July 20. Each week the children will learn about different cultures around the world. The theme this year is All Together Now. The theme emphasizes kindness and understanding among those who differ from us. Parents may register for these programs at any time.
After the Summer Quest Programs, the library partnered with the Blair County Historical Society to hold a children's workshop called "History in My Time." The two-hour workshop for fourth to eighth graders will teach the children how to document current events, personal history/ancestry and build a time capsule.
