Authority Looks to Extend Sewer

Stiffler McGraw Engineer Jon Clabaugh talked about estimates following last month’s discussion of sewer replacement in Robeson Extension. Clabaugh said the cost estimates were “high” and that they included using a two-inch line. Estimates totaled $46,000-64,000, the higher total soliciting grinder pumps, too. For the extension to reach the remaining two residents on the same side as existing customers, the cost estimates were $85,000-$120,000. Daryl Cole made the motion to advertise for bids for the sewer line to Everhart property in the Extension with Chet Bingham seconding. The motion passed. The authority will now advertise for bids.

Clabaugh also discussed meetings and phone calls with Cenveo’s Corporate Office. Cenveo is unveiling a multi-phase treatment plan to resolve issues with the authority. Cenveo also reached out with a new paper towel sample that could help placate the issues with the sewer. However, no further discussion was had on the topic.

Borough Manager Joe Lansberry talked about replacing more fire hydrants. There are still 11 in the borough that need to be replaced, some aging back to 1960. So far, the authority has fixed five this year. Daryl Cole suggested applying for some grant money to help replace fire hydrants. Lansberry said he would get estimates for the June meeting.
