Ask The Williamsburgers

I am always in the mood to talk about graduation. Let it be known that 17 years ago, I walked those same hallowed halls one last time in Williamsburg as a student, and came out an alumni. This inspired my question for the week: what advice would you give to this year’s senior class? Here is what a few residents had to say:

Stan Grove: “Have fun.”

Drew Appleman, Jr.: “Give your best and be kind to all.”

Judy Miller: “Be yourself. Have respect and don’t be afraid to say no. Be strong and do what’s right, be truthful.”

James Gibboney: “Life is short – do things you love! Travel to as many places you can, it will open your eyes.”

Kara Deters: “No matter how much you think you know, you can always learn more. Work hard, be kind and don’t be afraid to try something new.”

Amber Imler: “Always trust your gut feelings, don’t stop learning, and never forget where HOME is.”

Jessica Brua: “Strive to meet your goals, but don’t forget to take a breath and time to enjoy the special moments.”

John Walker: “Put the cell phones down and talk to others in person.”

Noah Lynn: “You do not need to go to college to be successful.”

Mike Wilt: “Set goals and chase your dreams.”

Jill Norris: “Wherever you go – be all there. Enjoy every experience whether here or there.”

Paula Hamilton: “Stay focused, stay humble and never forget the small town that always has your back!”
