Plans for Campaign Announced

Plans for the $595,000 fund raising campaign for the long-awaited Memorial Hospital of Bedford County were officially announced this week by the Board of Directors. Paul I Detwiler, president of the board, announced that Lesley Blackburn would be General Chairman of the building fund campaign.
The Agricultural Extension Office of Bedford County recommends spraying empty bins and granary passageways with a 5% DDT oil spray to control insects that attack stored grain. A ten percent DDT dust rubbed down into the bristles will control hog lice.
Miss Edith Kifer, licensed owner and operator of a beauty shop at Saxton R.D. gave a talk to the home economics class at the Smith Vocational High School in Yellow Creek. Miss Kifer stressed the importance of a good education as well as personality, good manners, and a neat appearance as being important for success.
