482 Students Graduates

Morrisons Cove area schools were graduating 482 students. A breakdown of graduates by schools shows Central with 222, Northern Bedford with 122, Claysburg with 88, and Williamsburg with 54.

The Spring Cove School District hired Sheldon O. Smith of West Orange, New Jersey as the business manager for the district. He will receive a salary of $16,000 a year with a two year contract.

Mrs. Wynnedith von Wehrden Ritchey of Everett, a teacher in the Everett Area High School, received a Doctor of Education degree at the University of Pittsburgh.

The Central High School and Williamsburg High School bands were among the bands participating in the Preakness Festival Parade in Baltimore, Md.

The first Blair County Mystery Tour of the season was held Sunday with 800 persons making a visit to neighboring Cambria County . Stops were made at the Charles Schwab mansion at Loretto, and the Seldom Seen Valley Coal Mine at St. Boniface.
