Central Volleyball 'Gaining Valuable Experience'

On Thursday, May 4, Central Boys Volleyball celebrated Senior Night. The four seniors are Christian Cherry, Wyatt Holsinger, Ethan Noel and Landon Snider. The team hosted Dubois and lost by a score of three sets to zero. Christian Cherry had five kills, Logan Hummel had 17 assists, and Bryson Brooks and Christian Heuston each had five kills and five digs.

On Friday, May 5, the team traveled to Derry for their Senior Night and lost again by a 0-3 score. Christian Cherry had 11 digs and 2 blocks, Christian Heuston had three kills and four digs, and Logan Hummel had 7 assists.

"I am impressed with this group of players for their continued effort and willingness to learn as we go through the season," Coach Ken Streilein said. "I am sure that there are a lot of players that would give up and just go through the motions when the losses pile up, but these guys go after it every day, whether in practice or matches. With a team of inexperienced players, it's not unusual to struggle to find victories, but the future does indeed look bright. The struggles of this year will pay off in the future, as they are gaining valuable experience."
