The Lady Dragons continued their reign of victory with two more opponents squashed throughout the week. The Dragons faced the Penn Cambria Lady Panthers and the Bedford Lady Bisons and found 17-0 and 12-2 victories respectively.
Against the Panthers, the Lady Dragons absolutely dominated, scoring seven right off the bat in the first inning, while adding four in the third and another six in the fourth for a run-rule victory. Lacey Lynn was the winning pitcher, recording six strikeouts and a mere one walk. Madison Kennedy had six RBIs, clearing the bases twice with two triples. Maya Hazenstab had two RBIs as well in the Dragons’ offensive effort.
The Dragons’ domination did not change in their other game of the week, but rather had a slower start against the Bisons. Scoring one in the first before the game was tied in the second, the Dragons scored six in the fourth followed by five in the sixth for another run-rule victory. Kennedy was the winning pitcher, recording six strikeouts on the defensive side and, on the offensive side, she had three hits, including a triple and two RBIs. Hazenstab had three RBIs across the Dragons’ 13 hits.
Now with a record of 11-2, the Lady Dragons will face the Bishop Guilfoyle Lady Marauders, the Johnstown Lady Trojans and the Bald Eagle area Lady Eagles in another three-game week.
