Childers: Family: Fiancée Michelle Bem, Daughter Jessa Childers

What in your background permits you to effectively represent this area?

Childers: I have lived and worked in Greenfield Township for most of my life. I worked at the Carpet Depot Home Center for 15 years and have worked for Greenfield Township for almost three years. In that time, I’ve grown to know the residents well and am willing to listen to any concerns people in the community may have.

What are the biggest challenges facing the residents of this area?

From my experience working for the township and listening to what people have to say, there aren’t any major concerns facing the township itself. The township board does a good job of tending to any issues that arise and taking the proper steps to do so. The township workers and I are quick to fix any unexpected issues that may occur daily and make plans for upcoming projects in the area.

What do you expect to accomplish in the upcoming term if you are elected?

Childers: I would start by upgrading public areas, such as the Claysburg Community Center and the Claysburg Community Park, to meet the needs of the residents. Maintenance on the roads to keep them safe is also a priority.

What is the biggest problem facing this area right now?

Childers: In my opinion, there aren’t any major issues facing the area. Most things are minor and can be fixed on a day-to-day basis.

How will you help to solve that problem?

Childers: Working in the community every day, I’m able to see problems first-hand and can bring them to other people’s attention. Then we can implement a plan to fix any issues.

Why are you running?

I’m running for Greenfield Township Supervisor so that I can be a part of the decision-making process. A township supervisor should be hands on in the community and see the concerns residents have for themselves. Working as a Highway Department employee for Greenfield Township allows me to have a different perspective on the needs and wants of the township.
