Please describe your family.

Kennedy: I am married to Joseph A Kennedy age 45 of Claysburg, I have a daughter Jazmin Kennedy age 22 and a son Levi Kennedy age 15

What in your background permits you to effectively represent this area?

Kennedy: I was born and raised in Claysburg Kimmel school district and understand the economic and education needs of the area.

What are the biggest challenges facing the residents of this area?

Kennedy: As a lower income school district, it's tough to balance education needs, extracurricular activities, and taxation of our stakeholders with the budget provided from the governmental bodies.

What do you expect to accomplish in the upcoming term if you are elected?

Kennedy: We are currently in the middle of an athletic building project, I’d like to see us complete that under budget, develop relationships with neighboring school districts for programs and provide learning opportunities at all levels for our students.

What is the biggest problem facing this area right now?

Kennedy: Historically, our test scores have been lower than neighboring schools our size. Our building and school leaders are striving to improve those scores by keeping our circullum in line with state expectations.

How will you help to solve that problem?

Kennedy: Ensuring our learning path and plan is in line with what our students need to be successful in the classrom and once the students enter the military, workforce or higher education is what my focus is. Throughly checking our curriculum and supporting our adminstrators and educators with tools they need is what we will focus on.

Why are you running?

Kennedy: As an insurance and financial advisor, I hope to bring some value to assiting our district in staying on track financially. I also believe with the right tools, our students, faculty and admininstration are some of the best in the state, so I want to be sure they have all they need to be successful.
