The Lady Dragons’ past few games have left them in a slump. After the 5-4 loss to the Rangers and this week’s 9-3 loss to the Chestnut Ridge Lions, the Dragons were finally able to turn things around with a 17-0 victory over the Bishop Carroll Lady Huskies and a 10-6 victory over the Westmont Hilltop Lady Hilltoppers.
After the losing streak, the Dragons came ready to play when facing the Bishop Carroll Huskies, scoring 12 in the first inning and adding another five in the second while shutting out the Huskies for a run-rule victory. Lacey Lynn was the winning pitcher, recording three strikeouts. She and Madison Kennedy each had three hits as well. Kennedy Hoyt pitched two innings and had five strikeouts, Kaylee Kensinger had two hits and three RBIs to round out the Dragons’ offense.
Against the Hilltoppers, the outcome was no different for the Dragons in the end. The Dragons scored two in the first inning and one in the third to jump to a three-run lead early. The Hilltoppers scored two in the fourth, but the Dragons responded with five runs in the fifth while only giving up three. The Dragons scored another run in the seventh to top off the victory. Kennedy recorded nine strikeouts as the winning pitcher as well as hitting two home runs. Lexie Fetzer had three hits and five RBIs, while Bralyn Ellis had another three hits and two RBIs in the Dragons’ offensive victory.
Back in the groove, the Lady Dragons prepare for four games this week against the Penn Cambria Lady Panthers, the Bedford Lady Bisons, the Central Cambria Lady Red Devils, and a non-conference game against the Altoona Lady Mountain Lions.
