Wilma Jean (Cooper) Walter

Hollidaysburg

Wilma Jean Walter, 88, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Salemville, went to be with the Lord April 21, 2023.

She was born May 27, 1934, in Potter Creek; daughter of the late Augustus and Elizabeth (Trail) Cooper. Wilma married her husband, R. Glenn Walter Nov. 16, 1952, at the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren. He preceded her in death Jan. 14, 2014, after spending 61 years together. 

Wilma was an active member of the Waterside Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School and loved sharing the word of Jesus Christ. She worked for Cove Apple Packers, later Blank Book and enjoyed coordinating and participating in Senior Citizen Activities.

Wilma loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandsons. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Glenn Walter and a brother, Delmer Cooper. Surviving is son, Robert Walter (Karen) of Duncansville; daughter, Wanda Bradley (Richard) of Virginia; daughter, Peggy North (Jeff) of Colorado; granddaughter, Jessica Warren of Texas; grandson, Aaron Warren of Colorado; great-grandsons, David O’Connell and Kaison Warren of Colorado; and brother-in- law, Kenny Walter of Salemville. 

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until the 3:00 p.m. celebration of life service at the Waterside Church of the Brethren. Pastor Eric Poteat will be officiating. Inurnment will be in the Salemville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
