Sgt. Buster Brown
Martinsburg
(formerly of Altoona)
June 21, 2009 - April 4, 2023
If you visited the Herald office between the years of 2009 and 2018, chances are you met Buster Brown, the Herald Office Dog. On Tuesday, April 4, the Bassler family said "goodbye" to our beloved office buddy.
For almost 14 years, Buster brought joy, laughter, and a whole 'lotta slobber to anyone he met. He lived a life full of hikes at Canoe Creek State Park, swims in various lakes and rivers, and greetings to our dear Herald customers. Buster loved to sit outside and watch the world go by. We'd like to believe that wherever he is, he's got an unlimited amount of racquetballs to chase and chew.
Surviving are the two kids he grew up with, R.J. (now 25) and Helena (now 22), his owners, Allan and Karen, and his canine buddy, Coco Bean. He was the, "bestest, goodest buddy," as quoted by Helena Bassler.
Before he left, Buster told us to thank anyone who ever gave him a belly rub, ear scratch, or a delicious treat.
