As an unrelenting but warm wind swept through the Conemaugh Nason Medical Center campus on Wednesday, April 12, Barb Ritchey stood in front of the flagpole and talked about the need for organ donation. As the nursing administrative assistant and liaison to the Center for Organ Recovery and Donation (CORE), Ritchey has stood on this spot for seven Aprils to raise the flag commemorating National Donate Life Month, a CORE initiative to draw attention to the need for and importance of organ, tissue, and cornea donors.
