The Williamsburg Borough Council held a special meeting on Wednesday, April 12, at 7 p.m. following the recess of the Monday, April 3, meeting. At the April 3 meeting, a public hearing was held regarding the dangerous structure on High Street, owned by Amy Morris. Following an inspection, the property was deemed to be dangerous. Sinking floors and a poorly constructed crawl space both contributed to the determination. Morris was given 120 days to file, pay fees and obtain a building permit from the borough. Following the building permit, Morris was given 90 days to complete the work. If Morris doesn’t complete the work, the borough will put a lien on the property.
Bruce Hamilton made a motion to accept both deadlines with Dakota Biddle seconding. The motion passed.
The borough discussed the issues of not being able to hire an office manager. This was also discussed at the authority meeting. A part-time employee was hired as an office manager, but the borough would like to add on either another part-time employee or a full-time employee. Those interested in the position are urged to contact the borough office. Borough council decided to also advertise the position on Facebook page and Indeed.
