Cathy Over's years of teaching inspired her speech last Monday evening for the Wiliamsburg School District's National Honor Society banquet. Over was a sixth grade teacher for many years with the district, and one of her main passions over the years was the Williamsburg history curriculum she created.
Over, a 1974 Williamsburg High School graduate, said that the founder of the town, Jacob Ake, thought a lot about the young people and how important education was. Over 200 years ago, Ake sought to establish a school and employ teachers.
