Messianic Seder
A Messianic Seder will be held at 6 p.m. on April 6 (Maundy Thursday) in the fellowship hall at St. John’s Reformed Church in Loysburg.
The Passover Seder tells of God’s deliverance of Israel from Egyptian slavery. Christ shared His Last Supper with His disciples — key elements of this meal give precious insight into Messiah Jesus’ fulfillment of ancient prophecy. A full meal will not be served, but those in attendance will sample key elements of the Passover Seder.
Persons who wish to attend are asked to sign up on a list on the welcome table in the sanctuary so adequate preparations can be made. Pastor Dave M. Meckley will preside.
Egg hunt
St. John’s Reformed Church of Loysburg will hold an Easter egg hunt and other activities for children of the Southern Cove community at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 8.
Because of recent excavation on the church campus, the event this year will be held on the grounds of the Replogle Building in New Enterprise, where there is an outdoor pavilion and a grassy area where the eggs will be hidden.
Church leaders and Sunday School teachers will help the children who attend with crafts and will present an Easter story before the egg hunt. All are invited to come and bring family and friends. Lauren Sell is chairman for the event.
